39U Main Rack and 6U Sub Rack

The HTL Data Communication Equipment Racks & Subracks houses power supply and appropriate connectors for various types of card modems. The rack is of 39U (1U = 44.45 mm) height and can accommodate six subracks. Each subrack, which is of 6U height, can accommodate upto 12 rack modem cards. The main rack is fitted with an AC / DC power distribution channel to feed 230V AC / DC to individual subracks. The main rack is equipped with grouting brackets and fitted with a draught fan (working on 230V AC / 48V DC) at the top.

The HTL modem subrack conforms to TEC Specification No SP 405 and corresponding Rack version modem specifications. The subrack provides DC power; connectors for RS232C or DTE interface cables and telephone line connections for each modem card installed in it. The individual lines to each modem are provided with series fuse and gas discharge tube protection.

All subracks have card guides. At every 5T (T = 5.08 mm) spacing starting from left side of the subrack, card guides are provided for each modem rack cards.

The right extreme of the subrack houses a 24T width power supply. The power supply generates the required DC voltages (+5V, +12V & -12V) which are fed to individual modem card. The power supply has got LED indicators for AC main and DC output supplies. It is provided with 230V AC mains socket and Mains fuse on the rear side. The DC outputs are protected against short circuit.

The subrack is provided on the rear side with V.24 terminations by a 25 pin D type female connectors for individual modem cards. The line terminations are provided with IDC (Krone type) connectors to enable fast and easy connectivity of telephone lines and telephone handsets (optional).
