Salient Features :

• HDSL (High-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line) technology is a superior E1 delivery vehicle as it can triple the distance (3.5 Km on 24 AWG (i.e.) 0.5 mm cable) that a E1 can be transported before a repeater is required.
  

• Longer distance of transmission can be achieved with thicker cables.
  

• 2B1Q coding scheme used in HDSL allows E1 transmission through a cable sheath without special conditioning, line repeaters and without affecting the voice quality of nearby cable pairs.
  

• This wireline technology helps in reducing the installation and maintenance costs for E1 networks.  It supports a wide variety of public and private communication applications.
  

• Two-pair HDSL transmission system transports at a bit rate of 1168 Kbps bi-directionally over each of the two pairs in parallel.  The net payload bit rate is 2048 Kbps.
  

• Rack version of E1 HDSL transceiver is a plug-in unit that may be inserted into any of the Channel Bank Assembly's multi purpose slots, alongwith all other transceiver and service channel units.
